About ORS Impact

Since 1989, ORS Impact works alongside renowned social impact leaders, supporting their work to accomplish their missions.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation

Strong and Effective Sector & Catalyzing Community Giving Initiatives

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) has a 50-year history of supporting U.S.-based infrastructure organizations and affinity groups through two initiatives: Strong and Effective Sector (SES) and Catalyzing Community Giving (CCG). This support has contributed to helping the sector address a wide range of needs to advance philanthropic and nonprofit practice.  While targeting different types of grantee organizations, both initiatives have developed to become more closely aligned to WKKF's commitment to advancing racial equity by strengthening philanthropy among donors of color to benefit communities of color at the community and philanthropic field levels.

In 2016, ORS Impact joined as an evaluation partner of these initiatives to conduct portfolio level evaluations to assess progress and generate insights to WKKF related to areas of growth, successes, challenges and ways in which the foundation can best support this work. We also provide technical assistance to grantees to build their evaluation capacity- from evaluative thinking that focuses on outcomes, to designing realistic measurement practices that promote learning and program improvement.
